There are several ways to support the Operation Take a Vet Fishing initiative. -Spread the word about the Operation Take a Vet Fishing initiative. -If you fish, post your invitation to our soldiers and Veterans to the forum and "take them fishing" - Publish you message to our soldiers and Veterans on the forum -Sponsor a veterans trip. Many licensed Captains have contacted me or posted messages on the forum offering to take veterans fishing. If you would like to sponsor a veterans trip send me an email at a.j.powers@leisuretyme.net and I would be happy to help you sponsor a fishing trip for a group of soldiers or Vets. -Businesses can participate as a Public Relations Marketing Sponsor of the OpTAVF initiative, the Tournament or the Memorial Day festivities (or all three). Marketing costs are fully tax deductible without the tax limitations of charitable donations. Email Andy Powers at a.j.powers@leisuretyme.net for details. Peter T. McCauley Memorial Fishing Competition: Peter was a 3 time purple heart recipient (2 in one day) during his tour in Vietnam. Suffering for years from PTSD and "Survivor Syndrome", Peter spent many years supporting his fellow Nam veterans and served as former President of the Westchester Chapter #49 of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He passed away in 1997. The Operation Take a Vet Fishing (OpTAVF) initiative is part of Powers & Company's policy of giving back to our community in the spirit of Capitalism With a Cause. |
